La passeggiata alla scoperta del Parco prosegue imboccando il Sentiero del Sottobosco: quello che è stato fino a ora un percorso tra giganti verdi e atmosfere esotiche diviene da qui un cammino raccolto in cui le fioriture si alternano durante tutto l’anno e in cui spiccano l’edera e, in primavera, la vinca, con i suoi piccoli fiori azzurro-lilla.
Dopo alcuni suggestivi scorci sul Grande Prato, un piccolo sentiero sulla sinistra conduce all’imponente Faggio rosso. Accanto ad esso, la ceppaia del Cedro del Libano, un tempo uno degli alberi più antichi del Parco, ancora oggi diffonde il suo profumo.
The walk through the park leads to the Secret Path, where the giant trees and exotic atmospheres encountered thus far give way to the underwood and the flowers that grow alternatively throughout the year. Of particular note is the ivy and, in the spring, the periwinkle, with its blue-lilac blossoms.
The path continues, leading past compelling views of the Great Lawn to reach a smaller path on the left. It leads to the impressively tall copper beech and, alongside it, the stump of an old Lebanese cedar. Once one of the oldest trees in the entire park, still today its prized fragrance hangs in the air.
