The Viewpoint over the Great Lawn

The Leafy Crown and the Nineteenth-Century Facade

From the edges of the central Great Lawn, the panorama is shaped by the outline of the surrounding trees, forming a Leafy Crown. The vegetation winds around small groves of trees and groups of plants, alternating nuances of color and leaving glimpses, here and there, of the Pinerolo hills in the distance. Beyond the Great Lawn, a small passage opens into the dense tree cover, revealing the old, original entrance of the park.

The main facade of the castle, once the stately home of the Massel di Caresana and then the Cacherano di Bricherasio families, is decorated in neo-Gothic style. The characteristic round tower never had a defensive function, but served as a view point overlooking the surrounding landscape.
